Unicorns

Unicorn: Latin= Unicornus, old french= Unicorne. Literally one horn unus=one and cornu=a horn UNICORN! A Fabulouse creature resembling a horse with one horn. Unicorn:a legandary animal like a horse, but having a single long horn in the middle of it's forehead. An Ancient Roman idea of a unicorn, it was thought to have the body of a horse, head of a stag, the feet of an elephant, and the tail of a boar. Monoceros=Mono-one, ceros-horn. Monoceros is a constalation that can be found to the left of Orion, between Canis Major, and Canis Minor.In China, the unicorn is called a Kilin. it is yellow-coloured,body of a deer,tail of an ox,and a single curved horn in the middle of it's forehead. It has a face like a lion,and it's body is covered in dragon-like scales.the end of the horn is soft and fleshy, showingthat the animal is peaceful.The Japanese unicorn is called a Kirin,and it looks very similar to the Chinese Kilin. It is said to be such a gentle beast, that it never even steps on an insect.
